Plastic Omnium has recently made two strategic acquisitions in the field of propulsion by hydrogen fuel cells. They are Swiss Hydrogen and Optimum CPV.
Swiss Hydrogen, a Swiss company based in Fribourg, is specialised in the design and production of solutions for the management and control of energy in fuel cell systems dedicated to mobility.
Optimum CPV, a Belgian company based in Zonhoven, is specialised in the design and production of tanks in filament composite for the storage of pressurised hydrogen.
After the Israeli company ΞPO-CellTech was set up in 2016 in the field of fuel cells and the Group joined the ‘Hydrogen Council’ steering committee, these two acquisitions reinforce the positioning of Plastic Omnium as an electric propulsion player.
According to the company, these new businesses, which should be enriched in the coming months and which already have more than 130 engineers, will be combined into a new entity and management called ‘Plastic Omnium New Energies’, within the Storage and Propulsion division, Plastic Omnium Auto Inerg
