The Mahindra Group-owned Peugeot Motocycles has served an ace. The company, which is the oldest scooter maker in the world and celebrated its 210th anniversary in 2020, has appointed tennis superstar Novak Djokovic as its brand ambassador for its electric two-wheeler brand – e-Ludix. Djokovic is currently ranked as World No. 1 by the Association of Tennis Professionals, a position he has held for a record 327 weeks.

On July 11, Djokovic won his sixth Wimbledon crown and a record-equalling 20th Grand Slam title (with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal). Djokovic defeated Matteo Berrettini 6-7, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3 and served six aces. After losing the first set in just 70 minutes, he soon found his groove and took the next three sets with aplomb.
What is the e-Ludix?
The Peugeot e-Ludix, an electric version of the classic Peugeot Ludix, is designed exclusively for urban duties. The lithium-ion battery developed and produced by Bosch, with its energy storage capacity of 1.6 kW, enables a range of up to 50km and 35 Nm torque.
The battery can be easily removed for easy handling. With the help of the charger, the battery can be charged in just 3 hours (80%, 100% in 4 hours) at any standard household socket. A coordinated system, consisting of a motor, control unit, battery and display, supports intelligent energy management for the best possible use of the battery capacity.
The digital display of the Peugeot e-Ludix is equipped with a 4.4-inch LCD display which has all the necessary vehicle parameters at a glance: battery charge level, current consumption, forecast remaining range.
The Peugeot e-Ludix has a choice of four riding modes with which the performance level and the range vary accordingly. While the ‘Boost’ mode gives the best riding performance, ‘Eco’ delivers more range. The ‘Cruise’ mode offers the best balance between power and range, and with ‘Crawl’ the rider can activate the 2kph manoeuvring mode. The e-Ludix is currently the only vehicle on the market with a forward and reverse manoeuvring mode. This system was developed and manufactured exclusively in Europe.
