Japanese carmaker Nissan has reported selling 391,418 units globally in April 2018, a decrease of 4.2 percent YoY. The sales were primarily driven by overseas markets, which constituted around 90.6 percent of the total sales.
The company reported that its global production volume has decreased by 0.5 percent (442,065 units) in April 2018. For January-April 2018, Nissan’s global production figure stood at 1,839,155 units, a drop of 3.7 percent as compared to the earlier year. In comparison to other regions, Nissan enjoyed its highest sales figures from North America (122,711) and China (125,219) in the month of April 2018.
Nissan states that it sold 1,887,890 units between January-April 2018 with reference to 1,930,973 units for the same period last year.
The production numbers were largely driven by China with 467,065 units during January-April 2018 as compared to 436,354 units in 2017. The figures from China were closely followed by a cumulative posting from Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines, South Africa, Indonesia, Brazil, India, Egypt, Russia, France and South Korea.
