Jaguar has announced that it has completed the final testing of the production prototype of the I-Pace for final range and durability tests in Los Angeles, USA, ahead of its global reveal in March 2018.
The company had showcased the I-Pace concept at the 2016 LA Auto Show, after which it has undergone several testing and changes. Jaguar says the I-Pace production prototype has completed 1.5 million global test miles and is ready for production with its proven long- distance mileage on a single charge.
Jaguar states that it has received a huge positive response from potential customers on its website for placing a deposit or registering a strong interest for the electric SUV. A few customers have been chosen to accompany Jaguar’s engineers as prototype vehicles complete final validation tests along with being at the front of the queue when order books officially open in March.
Jaguar claims its first battery electric vehicle will also be fast to charge with a target of achieving zero to 80 percent charge in a short break. Full specifications and pricing for the electric performance SUV will be announced in March 2018.
