Twitter has finally been acquired by Elon Musk. Musk closed his $44 billion deal to buy the social media service on thursday night. Tesla rival, the Detroit-based automaker, has paused advertising while it evaluates Twitter's new direction. It will use the platform for customer interactions but will not pay for advertising, the company announced.
Musk's ambitious appointment as Twitter's new CEO could mean a lot of things as he aims to make Twitter "the most respected advertising platform in the world that strengthens your brand and grows your enterprise", but it's quite evident that some automakers are not happy with the unfolding of the events, mostly due to his affiliations with Tesla.
