Chinese automaker Geely Automobile Holdings is on a roll. The company, which announced its half-year ended June 30, 2017 results, has posted a record 128% year-on-year growth in net profit to 4.34 billion yuan (Rs 4,421 crore). For H1 2016, the company had recorded net profit of 1.91 billion yuan (Rs 1,944 crore). The Geely Group’s sales in the China market were up 95 percent YoY in the January-June 2017 period to 526,779 units.
Total sales volume of the Group in July 2017 was 91,104 units, an increase of 88 percent over July 2016 and up around 3 percent from June 2017. The Group’s exports volume however was down around 54 percent year-on-year to 1,016 units in July 2017.
During July 2017, the Group’s total sales volume in the China market was 90,088 units, an increase of around 94 percent from the same period last year. The total sales volume in the first seven months of 2017 was 621,731 units, an increase of approximately 89 percent from the same period last year, and achieving around 57 percent of the Group’s revised full year sales volume target of 1,100,000 units in 2017.
In July, the New Emgrand sold 18,413 units (+16%), the Vision sedan 10,863 units (+32%), the Boyue 21,872 units and the Emgrand GS, Geely’s first crossover SUV model 12,863 units. Meanwhile the new Vision SUV recorded a sales volume of 9,122 units. The Emgrand GL, its new generation of A+ segment sedan model recorded a sales volume of 8,396 units.
