EDAG and Merkle & Partner to cooperate for simulation technology

EDAG, one of the world's largest independent engineering service provider, and German-simulation specialist Merkle & Partner, Heidenheim have announced a cooperation in the field of CFD simulation technology, in order to be able to provide their customers with all-round, state-of-the-art integrated solutions.

As a developer of complete vehicles, the EDAG Group offers a wide range of simulation applications to ensure the digital support and optimisation of all stages of the product development process. The company says it acknowledged expertise of Merkle & Partner in the field of fluid mechanics (CFD), which is the ideal complement to the skills of the EDAG Group in the digital product environment.

Jorg Hulsmann, Head of CAE and Vehicle Safety, EDAG said:  "With this intention in mind, we will in the future be joining forces to continue to expand our existing business activities in this area. Through our cooperation, we will be integrating Merkle & Partner in international projects being carried out in our global customer network. A genuine win-win situation in which the integrated high-level portfolio of simulation applications will also profit our customers."

EDAG says the range of services in fluid mechanics extends from single-phase and multi-phase flows to particle simulations. Working on a project-specific basis, the relevant competences will be put to the best possible use for the benefit of the customer throughout the cooperation. Among other things, the improved performance is expected to contribute to the rational handling of the increasing number of complete vehicle developments, and to enable component and module developments to be offered as complete solutions.
