Datsun re-enters Lebanon after 50 years
The Japanese carmaker first made its mark in Lebanon in 1967, when it sold the Datsun Bluebird. Now the Nissan-owned brand has returned to Lebanon with two models – on-Do sedan and mi-Do hatchback.
Datsun is expanding its global presence by returning to the Middle East with the re-launch of the brand in Lebanon. Sales of Datsun cars have started since July 14, 2016.
Speaking at the event Christian Mardrus, MC chairman of Africa, Middle East and India Region, said: “There is a new generation of car buyers emerging in Lebanon who are looking for a modern car that matches their own aspirations. They want a reliable partner that will allow them to seize every opportunity along their journey. Datsun is back, and we are here to help shape future personal mobility in Lebanon.”

Both the Datsun cars will be available in Lebanon through RYMCO, Nissan and Datsun’s distributors in the country.

“The launch of the new Datsun models in Lebanon is a historic occasion for us and marks a 49-year journey, bringing back an iconic brand to the market which gave a reason for RYMCO to exist. Datsun target customers are optimistic young ‘risers’ who are shaping tomorrow’s Lebanon. Many are first-time buyers looking for modern design and solid engineering, which the current Datsun models offer,” said Fayez Rasamny, chairman & CEO of RYMCO.
Vincent Cobee, Global Head of Datsun commented: “The arrival of the brand in Lebanon opens an important new chapter in the Datsun story, a story with many more episodes to come.”
