92% road deaths in Mumbai involve pedestrians, 2Ws

In its latest report, Bloomberg Philanthropies, the US-based charitable foundation, finds an improvement in overall safety in India's financial capital but pedestrians and two-wheelers continue to account for the majority of road accident fatalities.

Bloomberg Philanthropies had chosen Mumbai as one of the 10 cities to be funded for road safety initiatives to improve pedestrian safety and reduce road fatalities. The charity foundation had also signed an MoU with the Maharashtra government in February 2015.
